Happy 2019! We hope that you are all doing well. An update from our end is long overdue. Owing to the huge success of our first community outreach program in Thirthahalli Taluk, we were motivated to conduct a second medical mission at Ayanur Village near Shimoga District, Karnataka. The camp was conducted at the village’s Primary Health Centre. Volunteer physicians treated more than 100 farmers and daily wage laborers. Screening for diabetes, hypertension, and cardiac diseases was conducted. Treatment was provided for laborers suffering from osteoarthritis, asthma, gastritis, and other ailments. We want to give a special thanks to the volunteer physicians and nursing staff for their service. Without their participation, this medical mission would be impossible.

Since our last update, we have extended our solar energy program to Hyderabad, Andra Pradesh. Our Youth Ambassador Ganesh Kumar has led this effort. Keep your eyes peeled for his upcoming blog post where he will detail his experience launching this program in Hyderabad!

Best,
The Project Jatropha Team
