I am very excited to share my plans for this summer trip to India to continue my Project Jatropha work. Because of the pandemic, our team had to postpone our visit to India multiple times in the past three years. Now we have come up with a modified protocol to work amidst the Covid hurdle. I plan on working at two of our Project Sites in the states of Telangana and Karnataka. Keeping in mind the emergence of Covid fourth wave, our activities are restricted. In the past 6 months, I have connected virtually with several nonprofits in both the states to carefully analyze and select the nonprofits for my visits.
Though I was impressed with all of the organizations I connected with, I had to make a difficult choice of choosing a total of 9 for my visit due to my time and financial constraints. The organizations I selected in Telangana are Manchikalulu and LEPRA Society. The organizations I selected in Karnataka are Arianna Foundation, Chamundi Home, Chayadevi Ashrama, Lord’s Home, Pratham, Sainelle Trust, and Siddiganga Math.
My focus as a Youth Ambassador will be to meet with the management and the student body in the organizations to learn more about their mission and share my Project Jatropha Journey, followed by a small financial contribution for them to buy needed supplies. My flight is in two days and I am looking forward to sharing my experience with you all soon from the project site.
